The vision beyond the project is that ICT technologies applied to mobility and transport domain – the so-called ITS (intelligent transportation systems) – can have a significant role in the challenge for the reduction of emissions generated by transport systems and road traffic in particular.

However, ITS technologies can have a limited impact if (i) the user is not really aware of his/her role and ecological footprint generated by a travel, and (ii) the collected information are not intelligently shared between all interested stakeholder for an improved urban mobility demand management.

For this reason, INTEGREEN has launched an integrated social and technological innovation process for the creation of a “collaborative mobility” ecosystem: an environment in which all mobility actors are actively involved, and supported by the future “cooperative” ITS technologies, which will enable a seamless connection between pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles, roadside units and traffic operators.
