The second INTEGREEN workshop

The second INTEGREEN workshop was held on June 24th 2014 at TIS innovation park, in the city of Bolzano.

The event has been the occasion for presenting the intermediate results of the INTEGREEN project and exchanging them with lessons learnt in other relevant national and international projects, including FP7 CARBOTRAF, and the other LIFE+ projects OPERA and PERHT. All this has been enriched by the presence of the Italian Ministry for the Environment who has presented the new LIFE+ programme 2014-2020.

The workshop has been a very interesting occasion to discuss hot topics together with local stakeholders and international experts, such as:

  • How is it possible to use intelligent transport systems (ITS) in order to reduce the environmental impact of urban traffic?
  • What kind of instruments, methods and methodologies are today available in order to make precise estimations of traffic emissions and for better defining air quality plans?

The second international workshop was coupled with the final event of a complementary project called "Bolzano Traffic", financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Focus of this event has been on the following topics:

  • what are the applications and services that travellers can today use in the city of Bolzano?
  • what kind of opportunities are today available for local companies, in particular for those who want to increase their image towards occasional customers, e.g. tourists?
  • which advantages and added values can open data approaches determine?
